The Rydes Pit Lane Hotel! Well where can I start, me and my partner Simon, where travelling from Melbourne to Adelaide after New Years, We heard about the hotel from friends who know that we both like Motorsport racing and suggested we check it out on our way down to Adelaide. We drove in through the long driveway and came to the car park, it was empty at 5pm, 3 cars where around. We came in through the front doors of the hotel, a great selection of cars in the lobby and a great feeling, we had a look around and then returned to the reception desk to check in, the girl seemed polite, we asked for a possible upgrade as the building looked very empty, she said unfortunately it wasnt available because there was no housekeeping on and the rooms had not been cleaned. We where surprised but sometimes you dont always get that upgrade. We asked what time the restaurant and bar would be open from. She informed us that it was closed. Doesnt open until it gets busy. Seems like a pretty big false advertising to me, we only came to this hotel as the food and bedding was advertised so well. I asked the girl where she would suggest going for dinner, she suggested the OTR down the road has pies and a hungry jacks. Far from the exceptional dining they had on there website. We left and went for dinner at the local pub about 7 minutes away. We came back and found a nice room upstairs with a couch and living area. They had a driving simulator that we took in turns of playing on and were having a great time. Until the lady from the front desk came in and told us to get out, that it was a room we where not aloud to be in. However the elevator took us into the room and there wasnt any signs from what we could see as to why we couldnt have gone in there. We went back to our room for the night. The bed was comfortable and the pillows where great. We didnt like that the bed was on wheels and moved around a lot with little effort. The bathroom was great and so was the cupboard. The issue was the bed side roof lights. In the worst possible position. They where below my chest height and Im 185cm. I hit my head on the light multiple times getting out of bed. I wouldnt recommend coming back until they sorted out the issues Ive mentioned and fixed the roof lamps. Kind regards.
Beautiful hotel with amazing rooms. Would highly recommend
Friendly helpful staff. Very comfortable beds and a good breakfast. Go Karting was good fun on a great track. It was great to see all the cars on display when entering.
Very nice rooms most comfortable bed iv ever slept in apart from my own definatly will be going back most impressed
My son and I stay recently, my son races motor bikes, how great to have accommodation right there, we were upgraded to the pit lane room, thanks to the lovely lady at reception,. The food was amazing and with breakfast as part of the deal how can you do wrong. Beds were amazing and the pillows are lovely and soft. We were well catered for and it was a busy weekend. The only things for me that detracted a little bit were, there was only 1 chair so if you wanted to watch the racing only one of you could sit, there was no information with emergency numbers or the evacuation plan in the room and in the bathroom, which I must add was lovely, the water from the shower went over the bathroom floor and the sliding door didn't quite seal the bathroom. Minor things really when you put them up against all the good things. As for price, first of I thought a bit expensive but when you add up 2 days breakfast for 2 people, the prices isn't that bad. I will definitely be staying there again.
